AUGUSTA,GA (WJBF) Augusta leaders take a tour of what will be the city's newest offices.
Renovations are underway at the old library on Greene Street   for the new Public Defender's Building.
The nearly five million dollar project is the first one using   money collected from latest phase of the special purpose sales tax.
The new space allows the Public Defenders to get out of their current buildings that has become moldy and infested with bugs.
"This will be a great opportunity for the public defenders circuit which includes all of Augusta Richmond County Columbia County and Burke County our current Public Defender Kate Mason and her staff of 57 will suit this almost 40 thousand square foot building quite well."
